1. General information
Objective and meaning of the subject
This subject helps the student to explore their near future through the architectural project within the master´s training nature. This exploration opens up to places and situations that are always different. This requires the student to carry out the necessary research and personal positioning. This open situation allows for a fruitful dialogue between communities and differences that have arisen in the development of the proposed topic. The aim of the subject is not only for the student to produce a good final work, but also for them to be able to face the future to come.

2. Learning results
The student, in order to pass this subject, must demonstrate the following results:
Architecture and place
- Ability to reconcile the architectural project proposal with the historical, urban or landscape environment in which it is inserted.
Architecture as a built fact
- Ability to define an architectural project with the degree of definition corresponding to an execution project.
Architecture and memory
- Ability to discern intervention models in historical and modern heritage and ability to formulate rehabilitation projects.
Architecture and environment.
- Ability to integrate construction into the architectural project as an essential creative act, according to efficiency and sustainability criteria.
Architecture and time
- Ability to exercise architectural criticism and judgment for the design of buildings in the built heritage in any of its forms.
Legal framework of the architectural project and its execution
- Knowledge of the regulations and provisions that affect the architectural project as well as the technical bases for building management.
3. Syllabus
The program will be presented and defined according to the proposed topic(s).
4. Academic activities
S1: PRESENTATION: PURPOSE AND PLACE OF THE PROJECT
Definition of the research scope: background and bibliography. Start of the workshop.
S2-S6: WORKSHOP WORK: RESEARCH AND PROPOSALS
Create, develop and build within the proposed scope.
S7: OPEN CRITICISM 1.
Level: intervention strategy
S8-S10: WORKSHOP WORK: RESEARCH AND PROPOSALS
S11: OPEN PRESENTATION 2:
Level: Pre-Basic taking into account constructive and material criteria.
S12: WORKSHOP WORK, SYNTHESIS AND EVALUATION:
Presentation of the projects and the set of contributions, the sum of which will be a common reference for the development of each of the projects in the Basic Project and Execution (MFP) stages.
5. Assessment system
Continuous assessment: 50%
Biweekly and alternate monitoring and assessment procedure, guided by a set of items to which the student must respond in the development of their proposal.
Assessment of the proposal submitted: 50%.
Assessment of the project presented and developed during the foreseen timetable.
The assessment will be carried out in two calls:
-First call. If the student does not meet the continuous assessment requirements, they may pass the subject by taking a practical test at the end of the semester. It will be worth 100% of the grade.
-Second call: practical test, carried out in the period established in the academic calendar.
Assessment criteria:
-Correct use of concepts and ideas as framework and origin of the research of the proposed topic.
-Clarity in the use of a leading idea as a research path to the proposed topic and its place.
-The construction of the idea, architecture as a built fact.
-The structure of the idea, the anatomy as the original element of the project.
The assessment described above will provide a final grade. The student needs a minimum grade of 5.0 to pass the subject.
